‘Abhay 2’ and 5 Other Web Series to Binge Watch This Weekend

If you’re tired of working already and really want to celebrate Independence Day, you’ll decide to be independent from your job and take a nice, long weekend for yourself. I’m serious, you should do it (don’t blame me if your boss isn’t happy with this decision). And to keep you company, what better than these kickass new movies and TV shows that are available for everyone to stream, on various OTT platforms?

Here’s your personal list of movies & TV series to binge watch all weekend long:

Khuda Haafiz, Disney+ Hotstar

Khuda Haafiz looks like a super intense, thrilling movie that is set to drop today at 730 PM on Disney+ Hotstar. The premise is that a newly married couple’s life falls in jeopardy when the wife goes missing under mysterious circumstances. Written and directed by Faruk Kabir, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak & Abhishek Pathak and music Mithoon, this film has a promising star cast of Vidyut Jammwal, Shivaleeka Oberoi, Aahana Kumra, Annu Kapoor and Shiv Panditt.

Abhay 2, Zee5

Abhay 2, the Kunal Kemmu-starrer is back for its second season on Zee5! The gutsy Abhay Pratap Singh is back and this time he is up against some sharper and hardened evil masterminds. This premise might seem a bit on the nose, but hey, don’t judge a book by its cover. Developed by BP Singh and directed by Ken Ghosh, the second season features Ram Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Bidita Bag, Raghav Juyal, and Indraneil Sengupta. Watch it today and tell us what you think!

Churails, Zee5

A badass new Pakistani web series, Churails is about Karachi’s secret detectives whose mission is to expose the city’s unfaithful elite husbands. These women are dangerous and fearless, and this series makes for a comedic, thrilling watch. This Zee5 Exclusive Zindagi Originals series stars Sarwat Gillani, Mehar Bano, Nirma Bucha, and Yasra Rizvi, and is as gritty and edgy as the trailer promises. Watch now!

Bloodshot, Amazon Prime Video

Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force –stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – but he’s on a mission to find out.

Ramy Season 2, Amazon Prime Video

The series follows first-generation, Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan (Youssef) who is on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. RAMY brings a new perspective to the screen as it explores the challenges of what it’s like to be caught between a religious community who believes life is a moral test, and a millennial generation that doubts an afterlife even exists. In the second season, Ramy delves further into his spiritual journey, finding a new Muslim community and embracing a deeper commitment to his faith.

Ted Lasso, Apple TV

Jason Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer. In addition to starring, Sudeikis serves as executive producer, alongside Bill Lawrence (“Scrubs”) via his Doozer Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold also serves as an executive producer with Liza Katzer as co-executive producer.

Killing Eve, seasons 1-3 on Amazon Prime!

What is probably the sexiest, sleekest web series in the world right now is Killing Eve, and is finally available for us to watch on Amazon Prime! Written by the incredible Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, this show follows the cat-and-mouse chase of an MI5 officer and a mercurial killer.
