If you’re in love with Vikrant Massey after ‘Dolly Kitty,’ here are 5 throwback TV shows he was in…

Who doesn’t love Vikrant Massey? He’s super gorgeous and his talent makes him all the more gorgeous-er (his gorgeousness has made me forget all English). Be it Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare, A Death in the Gunj, Dil Dhadakne Do, he has revolutionised the role of the young Indian man on the big screen, and finally given girls something real to gush about.

But only true fans know that he began his way into stardom through TV.

Here are 5 TV shows that Vikrant Massey was in, and we’ve also included links on where to find them, because.

Dhoom Machaao Dhoom

Do you not remember the sweet young Amir Hassan from Dhoom Machaao Dhoom (the greatest Indian TV show of all time, disagree and I will fight you)? Well, he was played by none other than Vikrant Massey. Back in 2007. So, yeah. Massey’s talent was undeniable even back then. Watch Dhoom Machaao Dhoom on Disney+ Hotstar and tell us what you think!

Dharam Veer

Playing Rajkumar Dharam in this popular TV series that aired from January – October 2008 on NDTV Imagine, this was the role that really brought the spotlight on Vikrant Massey. In this fictional tale of two princes, Massey played the role of “Dharam,” who was brought up to believe in righteousness, follow his dharma as a prince and fulfill his responsibilities and duties towards the kingdom and its people. We loved him in this role, and we love Vikrant Massey in a really well-tailored sherwani.

Who wouldn’t?

You can watch episodes of Dharam Veer online, on YouTube or Daily Motion (but don’t tell anyone you heard it from us!).

Balika Vadhu

Being a personal Balika Vadhu fan myself, I can honestly tell you that after Pratap’s death left Sugna traumatised and grieving (AND PREGNANT WITH HIS CHILD HELLO), Shyam Madan Singh’s character was the progressive Indian man who was finally her match. Yes, Balika Vadhu had a lot of problematic elements and characters, and yes, Sugna didn’t need no man to “save” her, but we do ship Shyam and Sugna. It is true that many men would not marry a pregnant widow, and Shyam never once made it seem like he was obliging Sugna. Their love was pure. And Shyam, played by Massey, is pure as ever.

Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo

Telling the story of Bharti (Juhi Aslam) and the problems she faces due to her short stature, Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo had Vikrant Massey play the role of Murti Laal, a poor man who saves Bharti’s life when she was…thrown into the air by some men (?). I haven’t seen this show, and I can tell it is probably quite absurd and misogynistic, but in case you’re into that shit, you can watch Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo, again, on YouTube/Daily Motion. Although, we must keep mentioning this, we do not support pirated streaming of any kind.

Qubool Hai

Vikrant Massey speaking fluent Urdu is something that you cannot miss out on. Although his time on Qubool Hai was brief, Massey’s role of Ayaan Ahmed Khan was memorable enough to survive even years later. Shireen and Rashid’s son, Azad’s half-brother and Humaira’s ex-fiance, Massey brought a certain gravitas (and gorgeousness, did we mention that) to Ayaan’s character. Through this crazy show’s tumultuous narrative, Ayaan always stuck to his character’s personality, even though Massey had to do the tough job of replacing another actor to play Ayaan. Nevertheless, he did it smoothly and everyone lived happily ever after 🙂 ! Well, everyone except for Tanveer…

Stream Qubool Hai NOW on Zee5 and thank us later.
