Lockdown 5.0 is the eased up version of Lockdown 4.0, and everybody thinks they can waltz around the streets without masks and make out at the beach. Well, guess what? Covid is at an all time high, and is yet about to peak in India. It’s a grim truth, but you can’t really meet your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner just yet, simply because you miss them (read: you’re horny). Long distance is hard, but it’s also imperative. Everybody has to do it.
Just like Kavya and Dhruv, everybody’s favourite couple from Little Things. They’re so relatable, absolutely 21st century, and had to go through long distance too. If they can do it, so can we.
This one Instagram page, @littlethings_moment captures their quirks and sweetest moments beautifully. We thought we’d encourage you to continue long distance a little while longer, with some scenes that are basically what LDR is like under lockdown.
When it hits you for the first time that you’re gonna have to be alone…indefinitely
That first goodbye, man. It kills
Sure, you don’t need to be together every second, but growing together would be nice too
When the phone screen becomes your life
Long distance really makes you stare out the window, ekdum filmy style, missing your love
You have to come up with more creative (and personal) date night specials
Maybe you’ll just have to have that Zoom wedding
In August, when the situation should get better (I hope)
Miscommunication, things lost in translation…these are common in LDRs
And man, the missing hurts
Don’t worry Kavya, you’re not alone. Everybody’s doing long distance now.
Missed calls become the norm
Bonus: when you finally meet, you’ll realise you miss the strangest things…
Anyway, hold on a little longer. You wouldn’t wanna give your partner covid, would you? Phones were invented for video chatting, texting, sexting, keeping in touch. Hold onto your person. Don’t run away from commitment. You’re sure as hell going to need someone to love you once you step outside into the sun after 8 months.
