4.0 rating based on 1,234 ratings

Taapsee Pannu’s much-anticipated film Rashmi Rocket’s trailer was released recently, and we must say that it looks like a story worth telling. The trailer itself keeps you on the edge of the seat, imagine what the film is going to do. This sports drama has everything that a good cinema needs. Taapsee being an actress who has always opted for good scripts has done it yet again with Rashmi Rocket.

This film will tell the story of female athletes who face struggles and fall prey to flawed gender tests. Taapsee Pannu’s film is set in Kutch and tells the story of a young girl who could challenge the wind and was a fast runner. Her dream of crossing the finish line and winning medals for the country soon turns into a fight for justice, self-respect, honor and even saving her own identity. A single test questioned her entire existence.

We rate it a 4/5

This film reminds us of real-life athletes likes Santhi Soundarajan and Dutee Chand who underwent gender tests and were debarred from participating further due to high testosterone levels. This test snatched their dreams away, stole their identity, and left them with just humiliation. Taapsee Pannu’s film is the perfect medium to reach out to millions of people and let them know about the struggles and hurdles of female athletes.

The film also stars brilliant talents like Supriya Pathak, who plays Taapsee’s mother, Priyanshu Painyuli plays her husband and Abhishek Banerjee is seen as her lawyer. Every star in the trailer comes across as strong characters with some heavy hard-hitting dialogues and impactful screen presence.

This film is directed by Akarsh Khurana. Nanda Periyasamy, Aniruddha Guha and Kanika Dhillon are credited as writers. The trailer rightly calls Taapsee Pannu the champion who runs for justice. Now how her fight for justice turns out is something to look forward to. All we have to say now is that Taapsee proved her acting skills yet again by balancing the strong and sensitive parts in the film equally.

The film is all set to release directly on Zee5 on October 15, 2021.
