Ayushmann Khurrana has done it all. His Ayushmannism has made movies that are as entertaining as they are socially conscious, he’s the reason why woke-ness is spreading through mainland India. His portrayals of the urban middle-class young Indian man is always informative, entertaining and important in today’s day and age.
But Ayushmann is more than just an actor and hearatthrob. He’s also a fantastic singer (which also makes him a heart throb) and has contributed to Bollywood’s music in great ways. Here are our top 10 favourite Ayushmann Khurrana songs, ranked (by our own preferences)!
Moh Moh Ke Dhaage (Reprise)
At the Star Guild Awards, Ayushmann Khurrana covered the popular Papon song from his movie, Dum Lagaa Ke Haisha, Moh Moh ke Dhaage. Needless to say, it stole the whole show. His voice was perfect and the whole sequence seemed to be out of a dream.
From Bareilly ki Barfi, this chill, acoustic song is brought to life by Ayushmann’s gorgeous voice. A really sweet, pure love song, this song is the perfect one to sing if you wanna serenade your crush.
Another really chill love song, Ik Mulaqaat is from the 2019 hit film, Dream Girl. Nushrat and Ayushmann make this song magical as it is, but it’s Khurrana’s voice, so full of love and adoration, that makes this song a beautiful experience.
Ab Teri Baari
Okay, so Ab Teri Baari might not be a film song per say, and it might not even be one that you’ve heard, but we couldn’t not have it on our list. Featuring legends Ayushmann, Naezy, Sunil Chhetri, Dharmesh Yelande, Be YouNick & Shashank Arora, these guys are here to break stereotypes about what “being a man” is supposed to be. Made for Aze by Arre, this song is actually really fun to listen to.
Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho
If you don’t ship Kartik and Aman, you are either made of rock, or a homophobe. These two are ADORBS and this song perfectly captures their simple love, and how they’re content with each other. Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho. Who doesn’t want to hear that from someone they love?
Aap Se Milkar (Reprise)
Andhadhun was a huge hit, for obvious reasons. Apart from being one of the best films of 2019, Amit Trivedi’s composition set this film apart as being a musical treat. Aap Se Milkar, originally sung by Trivedi, is covered by Ayushmann in this reprise version, and has this happy-go-lucky feeling that we can all relate to.
Naina Da Kya Kasoor (Unplugged)
Ayushmann Khurrana covered Naina Da Kya Kasoor, another Amit Trivedi song from his film Andhadhun, and cheered up a bunch of talented, excited people at a blind centre in Bombay. This song is full of life and can make anybody dance — as you can see in this video. We love!
The Punjabi lyrics, the earth-y tune, the guitar-drums combo, and Ayushmann’s fantastic singing voice, all of these combined made the super hit song Saddi Gali. It doesn’t matter if you understand Punjabi or not, or even if you’ve ever been in love or not. This song proves that music can transcend all language, emotional and societal barriers. It touches us at the most personal, human level.
Pani Da Rang
The first time Ayushmann stole our hearts was his performance in the quirky film Vicky Donor, and the song he sang himself, Pani Da Rang. The Delhi-Punjabi song is authentic to the city, the vibe of the young couple in love, and the intoxicating feeling of being in love. Pani Da Rang is an evergreen song, and is definitely gonna go down in history as one of the best filmy gaane of all time.
