How Many of These 13 Iconic Monsoon Romance Songs Have You Heard?

The rains are here! It is officially Monsoon season and hence time for your Rainy Days Playlist to resurface. The 90’s and 00’s were the golden era of romantic monsoon hits. The drenched clothes, sensual movements and subtle gestures (not so subtle in some cases) gave all of us the illusion of the rains being romantic, sexy and exciting.

If you are single, proceed with caution. You might feel extremely miserable and lonely after hearing these.

Here are 13 romantic rainy numbers to get your heart rate up-

1. tip tip barsa pani- mohra

It would be unfair to not inaugurate the list with this song. Raveena Tandon’s yellow sari became immortal with this song. Her chemistry with Akshay Kumar is unbelievable and made this song all the more romantic.

2. Who Lamhe- Zeher

Emraan Hashmi and the rain? Does it get any better? Emraan Hashmi was the king of sensual romance and Woh Lamhe is probably the most romantic rainy number to ever exist.

3. Rimjhim Rimjhim- 1942, A Love Story

This may just be the cutest song to ever exist. Manisha Koirala and Anil Kapoor’s romance is so full of innocence, it is adorable. Also the yellow sari clearly seems to be a rainy romance staple.

4. Ghanan Ghanan – Lagaan

Ironically this song is all about the rain, but doesn’t actually showcase any rain. It isn’t romantic per say, but it’s still one of the most beautiful songs to exist. Also, it leaves you feeling extremely optimistic.

5. Taal Se Taal Milaa- Taal

Taal Se Taal Mila is a song that celebrates friendship. It romanticises the bond between gal pals and is so adorable. It is certainly a monsoon classic and should be on your playlist.

6. Koi Ladki Hai – Dil To Pagal Hai

Fetus SRK and Madhuri slay in this song. Koi Ladki Hai not only became a love song, but also a song for kids (weird combination, we know). We’ve all sung “Chak Dhoom Dhoom” throughout our childhood!

7. barso re- guru

Barso Re is one of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s most iconic songs till date. She brought this A.R Rahman song to life with her charming moves and friendly character.

9. dilbara- dhoom

Who can ever forget Ali trying to impress his ‘dilbara’ by repairing her car? His cute boyish crush gave this song a comical touch. The song is flirty and playful and must be on your playlist.

10. jiya dhadak dhadak- kalyug

Name a more legendary romantic song, we dare you. Jiya Dhadak Dhadak is the epitome of romance. It’s flirty and charming and SO beautifully composed.

11. hum tum- hum tum

No song can go wrong with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee. Hum Tum was an icon when it came to rainy romance. It’s gentle, soft and sensual, and very soothing to hear.

12. On The Roof in The Rain- Masti

Our list would be incomplete without this legendary song. Like the name suggests the song is literally about a Vivek Oberoi and Lara Dutta dancing romantically on the roof…in the rain. PS- notice the yellow dress?

13. Dekho Na- Fanaa

A sweet, melodious love song, Dekho Na is a very underrated number. Aamir Khan and Kajol have such a good chemistry and do this song justice. It’s a must have on your monsoon playlist. Also, notice the yellow outfit again.

There’s so much negativity and stress around us in these times, and we hope these songs will give you a break from all that and transport you to a love-filled, idyllic, rainy world.
