Check out these 9 Indian artists performing acoustic covers of your favourite songs

If you’re looking to vibe to some chill music and get your mind out of the shithole that is 2020, I recommend that you listen to some acoustic music. More specifically, acoustic covers of your favourite songs, songs that are generally part of festive Bollywood music or pop culture in general.

I stumbled upon some pretty great talent while scrolling through Instagram yesterday, and had to share with you these 7 super talented Indian musicians who have strummed their guitars and sang some of my favourite indie/Bollywood songs. These covers are just plain gorgeous, and you have to check them out:

Simetri and Arjun Khokhar’s acoustic Kabhi Kabhi Aditi

Sisters Simran and Riya Duggal have grown in popularity with their kickass song covers and originals that are youthful and full of life. This particular cover of Kabhi Kabhi Aditi has a dreamy vibe to it and is a great listen. Not to mention, their voices harmonize like butter.

Adamya Mishra’s cover of Labon Ko

Look, it’s not easy to take on a KK song. Adyam’s acoustic version of Labon Ko is not only good to listen to, his guitar is on point as well. Playing an instrument and singing at the same time deserves props.

Kushagra singing Tujhe Kitna Chahne Lage Hum

From Kabir Singh, Tujhe Kitna Chahne Lage Hum was originally sung by Jubin Nautiyal, and Kushagra’s acoustic cover of the song is sweet and super enjoyable to listen to. Tell us if you agree!

Macedon’s acoustic version of Kasoor

Originally by Prateek Kuhad, Macedon D’Mello’s acoustic cover of Kasoor maintains the Kuhad-esque indie vibe, all the while standing apart as an original cover. This clip proves just how skilled Macedon’s guitar playing and vocal power is.

Ishita covers Maane Ke Hum Yaar Nahi

Originally sung by Parineeti Chopra for Meri Pyaari Bindu, Maane Ke Hum Yaar Nahi is covered by Ishita Singh, as she strums her guitar. This cover is simply lovely, sweet and retains all the best qualities of the original. Check it out here:

Gurkirat’s version of Jhanjhra

Karan Randhawa’s song Jhanjhra was a hit as soon as it came out, and has inspired millions of covers, like this one. Gurkirat’s cover is an acoustic one and has a super chill vibe to it. The earthy, Punjabi lyrics add a fun zing to the cover. Listen to it here:

Vaibhav sings Tum Se Hi

Tum Se Hi is arguably one of Mohit Chauhan’s biggest hits (of all time), and it’s not easy to step into his shoes. Vaibhav does it while playing the guitar, in this acoustic cover that is a fantastic song to listen to.

Fiza sings Akhar

From Ludhiana, Punjab, Fiza covers Akhar by Nimrat Khaira and Amrinder Gill in this super chill acoustic version. Her guitar, the blue sky behind her, and her melodious voice, makes this cover a really professional-sounding one. Listen here:

Sameer’s awesome acoustic Zara Zara

Sameer Chaturvedi plays guitar and sings a gorgeous rendition of Zara Zara, an AR Rahman composition originally sung by the sultry voice of Bombay Jayashri. This song has been loved for years now, and Sameer perfectly captured the sleepy, chill vibe of it. We love this cover. Listen below:
