Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil taught us Ek Tarfa Pyaar Ki Keemat and also gave us some really beautiful poetic lines to remember. We can’t deny that this magical tale of friendship and unrequited love stayed with us for the longest. What made this Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai starter film even more magical is its album. Pritam did wonders with the music.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s album had managed to top the charts back in 2016 and it still remains to be on the top. Every lyric connected chords with the human emotion and Pritam Da managed to touch our hearts. Today, as the film clocks 5 years, let us take a moment to appreciate the music of the film.
So, let’s celebrate hues of love by reminiscing the album of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
1. Bulleya
Bulleya is the clear winner of the playlist. Amit Mishra and Shilpa Rao’s vocals combined with the magical music wonder by Pritam make it the perfect song. The lyrics express Ayan’s emotions so well that it connects to every passionate heart. A perfect Sufi love song.
2. Channa Mereya
Have you ever been through heartbreak? Then Channa Mereya will hit you at the right spot and will make your eyes swell with tears yet again. If Pritam’s music and Arijit’s vocals weren’t enough to get a lump in the throat then Ranbir Kapoor added his bit to it and made it even more emotional. Amitabh Bhattacharya captured heartbreak in the purest form with his lyrics and every word expressed the pain of letting go of your loved one.
3. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Title Track
5 years later, this song still manages to be in every playlist. Reason? The passionate lyrics, the perfect music, and the vocals that made a direct connection with the heart. Pritam’s music, Arijit’s voice (that always manages to make us cry), and Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics – what better combination can a song get? So, if you are a sucker for emotional songs, then the title track of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil should be on the top of your playlist.
4. The Break Up Song
Finally, a song to celebrate breakup! No melodrama, no requirement of tissues, just pure party anthem to celebrate break up! Well, this is needed too, right? Pritam made this one hell of a chartbuster and Ranbir and Anushka’s dance moves became the hook step of the year. So, if you are looking for a foot-tapping number to get over your breakup, you know which song to tune into.
5. Cutie Pie
Another number to groove to. Cutie Pie is a peppy number and Pritam did wonders with the music yet again. Pradeep Singh and Nakash Aziz’s voice makes it a catchy number and it is still amongst the songs played at wedding functions. One just can’t stop themselves from grooving to this number.
P.s:- Do not miss Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in the song where he acts to be okay with Anushka’s wedding and shows that he is enjoying the ceremonies. Well, we know your pain Ranbir.
