Aren’t fathers our first heroes? They just love us unconditionally. Be it their overprotective nature, or be it their desi sarcasm level, we love every bit of them.
Bollywood too gave us some dads that we will never forget. Some of them just resemble our dads! We do know that not all desi dads are cut from the same cloth, but there is no denying that there will be some similarities to match.
So, let us find out, which one of these Bollywood fathers can you relate to?
1. Abba Nahi Maanenge – Too Much Career Obssesed!
We all know a dad who thinks what society and people will say if their son/daughter didn’t become an engineer or doctor. Farhan’s dad from 3 idiots was exactly the same. He was a little too worried about Farhan’s career!
2. Baap Hun, Sab Jaanta Hun Types!
I love when dads say that. We saw one such dad in Shershaan. When Sidharth Malhotra decided to quit joining the army, he simply asked “Ladki Kaun Hai” and that just won my heart!
3. Maari Chhoriya Chhoro Se Kam Hai Ke – The Support System
Mahavir Phogat played by Aamir Khan is the ideal father we all wish for. A man who broke stereotypes and saw that daughters are more than just a liability. He stood with them and made them capable of fighting every situation. He made them stand on their own legs!
4. Family Na Admi Ko Chomu Bana Deti Hai! – The Accidental Dad!
Saif Ali Khan from Jawaani Jaaneman was the best example of how NOT to be a dad. Saif didn’t even know that he had a daughter, and he was in denial when she first told her about the same. Saif believed that family makes a man weaker, though he realized the worth in the end.
5. Kanjoos, ham log kanjoos hain! – The Bickering One
Amitabh Bachchan from Piku resembled the typical old desi dads of our household. Be it constantly bickering about one or the other thing or be it him acting like a kid 24 x 7, Amitabh Bachchan made us all fall for him. Not to forget that, behind the mask of bickering, they secretly love you a lot!
6. The Overprotective One
Well, dads are in general too protective, but Rahul from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai reminded us of our overprotective dads. He went all the way to the summer camp just because his daughter Anjali caught a cold.
7. Always In Doubt!
When you hear your name being called out in a long scream you know that something isn’t right. Sameeeeeeerrr!!!!! This yell from Ram Kapoor in Mere Dad Ki Maruti reminded us of dads who thought that their sons can never do anything right!
8. Too Hard To Crack
Well, the very first name that will strike you is Amrish Puri. We all know that one dad who would say NO to things even before we ask. Or say a dad we are even scared to ask something in the first place. (But he did win hearts, when he said – Jaa Simran Jaa, Jee Le Apni Zindagi at the end)
9. Daddy Cool
Aaahhhh!!! The best of the lot! Anupam Kher is the best dad Bollywood ever gave us. He always played the coolest daddy. We saw him as the coolest in DDLJ, then in Judwaa 2, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and many more to count.
10. Trust Me Parents Do Have A Favorite Child – The Biased One
We always fight as to who is our daddy’s favorite right? At times, the difference is quite visible. Anil Kapoor from Dil Dhadakne Do played that biased dad who wanted his son to take over his business and not his daughter.
