Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur To Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas, War Films To Look Forward To!

War films hit us differently. They do not just give you a blood rush, but also make you ride high on emotions. You feel the pain, the struggle, the sacrifices, and much more while you watch any war film. These films are the best way to salute the sacrifices and make the common public aware of the lives these unsung heroes live by.

We saw Shershaah and Bhuj The Pride Of India recently. While Shershaah left us teary-eyed and gave us goosebumps on many occasions, Bhuj managed to tell us a story that many were unaware of. These films awakened the patriot in all and kept us wanting for more. It seems our prayers are being heard, there are few interesting war films coming up which will tell the stories of brave wars fought.

So, we are calling this our Dil Maange More moment, and without any further delay, we will tell you about these upcoming exciting projects.

1. Sam Bahadur

We have seen Vicky Kaushal in URI and he was commendable as an army officer. His dialogue “How’s The Josh” had the entire nation roaring. Hence, when the audience heard that Vicky Kaushal will be playing war hero Sam Manekshaw, the excitement knew no bounds. The excitement doubled when the first look of Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw was out because he looked exactly like him. Sam Manekshaw was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh. His story will be directed by Meghna Gulzar, who has given us films like Raazi and Chhapaak. We hope Sam Manekshaw’s spirit is rightly captured in the film because they don’t make men like Sam Bahadur anymore!

2. Tejas

When you know Kangana Ranaut is the lead actress in the film, you already know it is going to be an epic hit film. She is known for her acting skills and she has never failed to carry a film on her shoulders alone. Written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara, Tejas is the story of a fierce and daring fighter pilot played by Kangana. Let us tell you that the Indian Air Force was the first of the country’s defense forces to have women into their combat teams in 2016. This film draws inspiration from those events and will also showcase some of the most challenging combats the forces undertake to save our nation. Our hopes are high and we are waiting for the film to release.

3. Captain India

A promising war movie starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. Directed by Hansal Mehta, this film will be based on one of the most successful rescue operations in Indian history. Kartik Aaryan will be seen in the role of a pilot. The film will showcase Kartik leading the operation with exemplary bravery and courage. Speaking of the film, in one of his interviews, Kartik said, “Captain India is inspiring and thrilling in equal measure and it gives me great pride and honor to be a part of such a historic chapter of our country. I have immense respect for Hansal Sir’s body of work and this was the perfect opportunity to collaborate with him.”

4. Major

A film based on the life of 2008 Mumbai Attacks martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Adivi Sesh plays the main character in the film. The film has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. 26/11 was a dark day in the history of Mumbai and it is really hard to forget that day. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was one of the brave souls who fought and sacrificed his lives saving many. This is a heartfelt tribute to him. The film is ready but due to the pandemic and uncertainty of the reopening of theatres, the release date has been pushed. Well, his valor and bravery do deserve a big-screen release.

5. Sardar Udham Singh

Revolutionary freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh aka Shaheed-i-Azam Sardar Udham Singh’s life will be portrayed on screen by none other than Vicky Kaushal. His heroic story will be filmed by Shoojit Sircar, a director who is appreciated for the kind of films he makes. Udham Singh is known for his brave assassination of Michael O’Dwyer, which was done as revenge for the 1919  Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. It will be an honor to watch his story unfold on the screen. We all are eagerly waiting for the release of the film.
