Taapsee Pannu starrer film Haseen Dillruba’s trailer took the internet by storm as soon as it was released. This Vinil Mathew directorial crime thriller has currently become the much-anticipated movie. The trailer gives us an insight of the spicy thriller where Taapsee is accused of murdering her own husband Rishu, played by Vikrant Massey, with the help of her lover Harshvardhan. The trailer shows that the film is filled with revenge, love, lust and deceit. There is action, there is suspense and there is a never seen kind of romance. It can be rightly called – ‘ Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani, Hui Shuru Ek Khooni Prem Kahani’

While the audience must wait till July 2 to hear the final judgement to Taapsee’s case, here let me show you 5 such women led crime films that will keep you hooked till then.

1. Kahaani

Touted as Sujoy Gosh’s best work till date, Kahaani is an unforgettable watch. Vidya Balan pushes her boundaries as she plays the character of a pregnant women who comes to Kolkata in search of her husband. The twists and turns will keep you off the seat till the last moment.

2. Badla

Sujoy Gosh has a knack for spine chilling thrillers and Badla is another proof of it. Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu’s duo added the spark that Sujoy wanted. Taapsee is accused of murdering her husband, Amitabh a lawyer who never lost a case in 40 years comes on board to save Taapsee. With references from Mahabharata, this spell binding remake of the Invisible Game turns into a lesson in mind games.

3.  Mardaani 2

Rani Mukherji steals the show in a soul stirring thriller Mardaani 2. Written and directed by Gopi Puthran, this film is based on human trafficking which will disturb you and make you uncomfortable.  Shivani Shivaji Roy, played by Rani becomes the women we all must be in real life. The search for the culprit and some gruesome scenes makes it the perfect edge-of-the-seat crime thriller.

4. NH10

NH10 is a highway to hell. A much-needed story highlighting the honour killings that have been a part of the social fabric for a long time. Meera and Arjun, played by Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam witnesses a double murder and the next thing they know is that they are being hunted and they need to hunt to survive. You just cannot look away; the film will stay with you for a long time.

5. The Girl On The Train

Paula Hawkins’s novel The Girl On The Train had kept everyone engaged and engrossed and so did the Hollywood film by the same name. Now, the Bollywood adaptation to the same recently released, and we must appreciate the efforts put in. Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Rao Hydari and Avinash Tiwari play their part well. The film started on a slow note, but after it took pace, it doesn’t let your attention falter for a single second.
