Aparshakti Khurana – a man who is changing the way we look at supporting actors. I mean how often do you love a character more than the main hero? Very rare, right? And Aparshakti with his brilliant comic timing, on-point accent, and little gestures made sure that his roles leave a footprint behind.
He makes his presence felt in every film he does. Sometimes he is the only saving grace too. But, still, Aparshakti hasn’t received his big Bollywood break as the main lead. Surely he was seen in Helmet and Kanpuriye, but these films slipped under the radar (though his performance was still highly appreciated by the critics).
Though Aparshakti, in one of his interviews revealed that he doesn’t want to rush into taking big roles, it’s high time that directors see him just as ‘hero ka dost’ He is much more than that. Let us show you some of his best works as a supporting actor that shows he is capable of carrying a film on his shoulders.
1. Dangal
Aparshakti played the role of Omkar Singh Phogat in Dangal. This was his debut film and with his first film itself, he set a benchmark. His wide smile and amazing performance didn’t go unnoticed and people instantly started to love him. In spite of having a majority of his screen space with an actor like Aamir Khan, he made sure that he doesn’t get overshadowed. His cute banter with Aamir in the film was highly appreciated and Aparshakti Khurrana became a known name and face to the world. The notable thing about him is that he had aced the accent game very well and it felt like the role was meant just for him.
2. Stree
Film street had stars like Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi, these stars are known for their acting skills, yet Aparshakti made a special place in the hearts of the audience. With Stree, he showed us that he is more than just another Khurana brother. What we love most about him is that he has unique comic timing and every time he is onscreen, it’s a delight.
3. Lukka Chuppi
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Aparshakti Khurrana’s power-packed performance overshadowed the main lead – Kartik Aaryan. I am sure Aparshakti’s fan base skyrocketed after this film. Every frame that has Aparshakti, brings a huge smile to our face. Directors, are you listening?
4. Jabariya Jodi
“Aaj toh wah ki jagah, parvah karlo” Khurrana’s character as Balbir found himself in a heart-wrenching situation in Jabariya Jodi – he was friend-zoned by his childhood friend Parineeti Chopra. This role required mature comedy delivery and who better than Aparshakti could have done it?
5. Pati Patni Aur Woh
A flawed wingman to his best friend played by Kartik Aaryan. Each time we watch Aparshakti on screen, I wonder how does he make the role look so relatable? How can every role seem like it was meant just for him? Pati Patni Aur Woh showed that he is the friend that we all need in life.
Well, its’ not just us, but the audience feels that Aparshakti’s talents are not being fully used and explored by the directors.

High time @Aparshakti gets a lead role.
These are not the only roles. Hum Do Humare Do, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and many other films have Aparshakti to add to their credit list.
We really hope that we see him in a big Bollywood movie as a lead soon.
